The Clipper Race was conceived in 1996 by Sir Robin Knox Johnston and is run by Clipper Ventures plc. The race takes place every two years .
The 24-24 edition sees Halong bay return as a team partner and join as a Host Port for the first time in the race history. The Ha Long Bay team is made up of 64 crew members including 46 males and 18 females from 21 different nationalities, youngest crew member is 29yrs – and 71yrs is oldest crew member. In recent on 26th Jan 2024 Halong bay has 40 points and overall position 6th out of 11 racing teams.
Global circuit from race will reach 14 international cruise port form UK, Spain, Uruquay, South Africa, Australia, Vietnam, China, USA, Panama and Scotland.
In next Feb 20th 2024 all 11 race teams will reach to Halong bay and will stay at Halong International Cruise Port till Mar 2nd 2024.
While the fleet is in Halong Int’l Cruise Port, Quang Ninh province government cooperate with Clipper Ventures will hold some incredible activities for crew teams join their time in Ha Long and Vietnam. Also it will be chance for local citizens to tour a Clipper Race yacht and see how the crew live when on board.
